Chit Chat: Surprise

On Friday I celebrated another birthday! My family and I had a delicious dinner together and a wonderful cake made by Tracy (it was this cake). We had a great evening as a family and then we finished it off with a beautiful fireworks display courtesy of my brother and cousin! This was really all I was expecting for my birthday. This has been what I have done for my birthday for years. Sure other than this evening with the family I usually have a lunch with my best friends for my birthday. But this year was different.

Not only did I get my family dinner at home with the fireworks, but my amazing mom threw me a surprise party! I haven't had a birthday party since I was a little kid, but I loved it! Last weekend Tracy was supposedly taking me out to dinner at our favorite local restaurant. We pull into the parking lot and I think "I know these cars." We go in and go upstairs and there's my family and my closest friends! It was a wonderful surprise. We laughed, played games, and ate. It was great getting to hang out with most of my favorite people.

Most of the time I'm not one for being the center of attention, but I loved this party. It definitely made me feel special that all of these people came to a surprise party for me and that they were actually able to keep it a surprise.
