High Tea
Posted by JessicaOne evening this past week I had tea with a group of lovely ladies. We each brought something for the tea and everything was delicious. We had petit fours, cucumber sandwiches, pecan pie bites, jelly filled cookies, cheeseball, and many other delicious treats. The teapots and teacups were so adorable. I tried the peppermint tea and while it smelled delicious, I did not enjoy the taste. So what did I take to the tea? I made Cheddar and Bacon Scones.
Ingredients
Bacon fried and drained of grease (as much or as little as you want)
4 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
2 tablespoons baking powder shopping list
1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
2 teaspoons salt shopping list
1/4 cup sugar shopping list
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded shopping list
2 large eggs shopping list
8 ounces sour cream shopping list
1/2 cup canola oil
1/3 cup milk
Directions
Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar and then fold in the shredded cheese and crumbled bacon.
In a small bowl, combine the eggs, sour cream, oil and milk.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir just until moistened.
On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough 10 to 12 times and then pat it out to a 3/4 inch thickness.
Cut dough with a 3" round cutter, or simply cut into 3" squares.
Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes.

ReplyDeleteI have never gone to any kind of tea party. Well, that's not true. I went to a tea party when I was very young in grade school. I didn't enjoy it, but that was also during the time when I was convinced I was a boy.
