One of my favorite smells wafting from the kitchen, would have to be the smell of cookies baking in the oven. I have heard before that real estate agents will bake cookies before showing a home, because the homey smell of cookies baking entices the prospective buyers into wanting the house for their home. I can certainly understand why! The smell of cookies baking is so sweet and comforting. And the first cookies from the oven are a delight to enjoy in all of their warm gooeyness. Of course sometimes we bake more than necessary and need to save them for later. The perfect way to store these extra cookies is in a cute cookie jar.
