Everyone loves warm cookies straight from the oven. Although our first love will always be chocolate, butterscotch is a great way to create the occasional switch up. Everyone we shared these with gave us immense compliments. We cannot wait to make a batch of these for snacking on with cocoa during cold winter evenings.
Ingredients: 1 cup softened butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp hot water
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butterscotch morsels
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. 3. Beat in the eggs, then stir in the vanilla.
4. Add baking soda, salt and hot water. 5. Stir in flour, butterscotch chips and nuts. 6. Drop by large teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. 7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges of the cookies start to become brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool on the cookie sheet for 1 minute before transferring onto a cooling racks.
Such a yummy idea :) I myself am searching through autumn/winter recipes, so these would be great with tea whe the weather gets evil :):)
